The COVID-19 pandemic has led to global health problems in many countries. The rapid spread of the disease, high mortality and the development of severe complications have posed challenges to specialists related to rapid diagnosis and provision of medical care to patients. The aim of the work is to analyze the scientific data on the mechanisms of development of the pathogenesis of COVID-19 coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 to determine specific methods for diagnosing the virus, treatment tactics and ways to prevent the spread of infection. The pathogenesis of COVID-19 coronavirus disease occurs with primary lung damage and late hematological, tissue hypoxemia and mitochondrial dysfunction due to oxidative stress
