Consideration of certain types of hyperostosis
    (2025) Sukhonosov, R.; Tereshchenko, A.; Halycha, M.
The study examines the morphological features and clinical significance of hyperostosis, focusing on specific types, particularly Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis (DISH), also known as Forestier’s disease. The content of the key differentiating clinical and radiological signs that distinguish DISH from other conditions, such as ankylosing spondylitis, is analyzed. It is established that DISH is characterized by the ossification of the anterior longitudinal ligament of the spine, primarily affecting the thoracic vertebrae, while sparing the sacroiliac joints. The need for early differential diagnosis to prevent late complications and functional limitations in patients is substantiated. The conclusion is made that proper understanding of the specific type and extent of hyperostosis is essential for appropriate medical and rehabilitation management.

Individual variability of the external jugular veins
    (ПВНЗ «Харківський міжнародний медичний університет», 2024) Lopushniak, L.; Sukhonosov, R.; Ushakova, M.
The study presents the results of examining the individual variability of the external jugular veins based on 30 unembalmed adult cadavers of both sexes. Two main morphological types were identified: the trunk form and the dispersed form, differing in the number of tributaries, trunk length, and internal diameter. The trunk form was found more frequently, usually projecting along a line from the mandibular angle to the middle third of the medial clavicle. The external jugular vein demonstrated variable drainage patterns into the subclavian vein, venous angle, or internal jugular vein, predominantly at an acute angle, which has clinical significance for catheterization. The data obtained confirm the potential of the external jugular vein for autoplastic grafting and highlight its practical value in surgery and interventional procedures.

The blood supply of the nerves of the hand in fetuses and newborns
    (ПВНЗ «Харківський міжнародний медичний університет», 2024) Sukhonosov, R.; Tereshchenko, A.; Halycha, M.
The study investigates the arterial blood supply of the hand nerves in human fetuses and newborns. Based on anatomical examination of 30 upper limbs, it was established that the sources of blood supply to the ulnar, median, and radial nerves and their branches are highly variable, with multiple arterial contributions forming complex intraneural vascular networks. The variability concerns both the number and combination of arterial sources and the extent of vascular territories, which may differ even between the right and left limbs of the same individual. These findings highlight the importance of detailed anatomical knowledge of nerve vascularization for neurosurgical practice, particularly in procedures involving the peripheral nerves of the hand.
